Chattanooga’s Summer Dregs took a stab at Neon Indian’s “Mind, Drips” here with surprising success. Neon Indian : “Mind, Drips (Summer Dregs Remix)” (mp3) Carl Cadwell, the main dude behind the project, calls Summer Dregs “Chattanooga Music.” I don’t know about that, but I’ve never seen a robot riding a scooter in Minneapolis… This is an interview series in preparation for my SXSW Panel: The State of Music Blogs in 2010. You know that sweet new White Stripes box set I wrote about a couple weeks ago? Here’s a video from it for “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” I can’t believe they’re going to taunt us with goodies until March 16. Then you should love them…. For example: Japan’s Polysics will be in the U.S. for a headline tour in support of the new CD Absolute POLYSICS starting January 28. But they aren’t coming to Minneapolis, which makes me feel ??? (kanashii). Check out this new video from New York-based Only Son, directed by Adria Petty. I love the rope-climbing concept at 1:15, although personally, I always sucked at climbing the ropes in gym class. I already own every White Stripes album — most on CD and vinyl — and probably 20 live concert bootlegs. But this live album/DVD set looks too good to pass up… |
