I’m sitting in a Las Vegas hotel room rocking some EELS “Mr. E’s Beatiful Blues,” cranking out the work to this view of the Hilton’s golf course with desert mountains in the background and thinking that it is indeed a “beautiful day”…
And then I get this e-mail:
The eighth EELS studio album, entitled END TIMES, will be released January 19, 2010, only six months after the latest and highest-charting EELS album, HOMBRE LOBO. The new album features 14 tracks largely self-recorded by EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett, aka E, in his Los Angeles basement studio. Following the longest gap between EELS albums (4 years between 2005’s BLINKING LIGHTS AND OTHER REVELATIONS and 2009’s HOMBRE LOBO), this is the shortest gap between EELS albums.
