Learning Music Monthly introduces me to Mooey Moobau

learningmusicmonthly_510
I’ve been listening to Learning Music Monthly’s new September album, Friends Who Are and am really enjoying it.

Learning Music Monthly is a subscription based album-a-month series that’s a great resource if you’re looking to discover some out-of-the-box music (that doesn’t suck — important distinction).

September’s issue of LMM is a selection of remixes by John Wood and Lisa Tremain. Here’s the lead track:

Mooey Moobau : “Friends Who Are Fathers” (mp3)

Mooey Moobau is the alter-ego of Joe Tepperman, a speech scientist who does research for a large language software company. He creates some intense glitch/noise/freak music. Check out the track “What Can I Say” on his MySpace.

Meanwhile, kudos to Learning Music Monthly for turning me onto this guy. Subscribe to LMM’s album-a-month series here.
