Last fall Compadre Records/Fontana Distribution released the Johnny Cash Remixed LP, featuring hip-hop and dance remixes of Cash standards from the Sun Records catalog.
Critics have focused on Snoop Dogg’s take on “I Walk the Line,” but I prefer Pete Rock’s Remix of “Folsom Prison Blues,” Troublemaker’s frantic 8-bit remix of “Straight A’s in Love” and the rockabilly, steam locomotive-charged “Rock Island Line” remix by Wolf.
This week we got our grubby hands on three copies of the album in vinyl – the way The Man in Black intended you to listen to his music.
E-mail us with something about Johnny Cash in the subject, and I’ll have the intern pick three names randomly early next week.
