The Minneapolis Henrys play Eclipse Records, Dec. 18

mplshenrys_albatross1.JPG
I’ve been meaning to write about The Minneapolis Henrys since August, when the album the group sent via USPS was shattered into a million pieces by some pissed off mailman.

What intrigues me is that The Minneapolis Henrys are actually from Chicago, and nobody in the band is named Henry. If they were in Minneapolis, however, they would fit in rather well with the Royalty, Etc. Records crew (especially Middlepicker).

The group’s new album, The Way of the Albatross, is out now on the new Grape Juice Records out of Chicago.

The Henrys charted #16 on CMJ’s Top Adds last week and found themselves as “Artist of the Week” on Vic Radio, Ithaca College’s radio station.

Stream the album here.

The Minneapolis Henrys will be playing Eclipse Records in St. Paul on 12/18 with The Dirty Diamonds.

  • Hey. This is Jai from the MPLS Henrys. Jai Henry. See My last name is Henry. And three out of four of us are from Minneapolis. The fourth is from Indianapolis (close, Right?). I hope that clears a few things up and thanks for the write up!
