Santa Cruz’s LittleBear is Nick Principe au fond.
Whilst drinking (we assume) discount wine in upstate New York, Principe recorded LittleBear’s debut, Army Of Trees EP, playing all the instruments and arm wrestling bearcats. Then he packed up the chess board and wool socks and headed to Santa Cruz to show off the EP and start work on the LP.

UPDATE:Â A few corrections from Mr. Principe:
- lots of cheap whiskey, not wine
- i lost every single arm wrestling match with the local bearcat, Tom
- i both won and lost every chess game i played
- wool socks stayed in NY
