We first told you about Phoenix band What Laura Says back in May, when the Terpsikhore label collective announced its first projects. Well, it’s been a long summer and today is finally Laura’s big day.
For a band from the desert, Thinks and Feels often comes off as a Beach Boys-influenced stoner album rife with jaunty melody, vocal harmonies, lollipops and puppy dog tails
But there’s so much more here — check the Ben Folds piano riffs on “Paradice,” perk up to the acoustic guitar work on “Dot Dot Dot” and the down home country tromp of “Fashionably Moral.”
Good, honest album, and it just so happens it’s out today. I’d like to buy these guys an RC Cola and head west.
