Toadies : No Deliverance

August 18th, 2008 · No Comments

toadies_nodeliverance.jpgA few months ago I was sitting at the dining room table listening to new albums wearing my tony Bose headphones to tune out the Guitar Hero championships in the living room.

Between songs the faint chords of “Possum Kingdom” by the Toadies permeated my cone of silence, and I found myself drifting into 1994 grunge land.

Nirvana, Meat Puppets and Toadies, oh my! But wait? Didn’t the Toadies break up after that chick on bass left?

It was just a hiatus! Toadies are back with a new album, No Deliverance. Since I never heard 2001’s Hell Below / Stars Above, as far as I’m concerned, they’re picking up where they left me in the mid-90’s wearing a ratty plaid shirt and hating my parents. I’m having a lot of fun with this one. No Deliverance is the soundtrack for the modern adolescent.

Here’s the title track single:

Toadies : “No Deliverance” (mp3)

Toadies play Station 4 in St. Paul on January 21.
