The Music : Strength In Numbers, album mix mp3

themusic_strength.jpgOnce upon a time (December 2002) I drove 250 miles to see an up and coming band from Leeds, UK perform an opening slot for The Vines at the now-defunct Quest Club.

Indie/rock/dance crossover band The Music didn’t show up. Worse yet, The Vines frontman Craig Nicholls had an on-stage meltdown — as was his predilection at the time — and trashed the drumset after playing 45 minutes.

The band is back now with a new album called Strength In Numbers, with help from Flood (U2/Killers) and Paul Hartnoll (ex-Orbital). Here’s a four-minute album mix:

The Music : “AlbumMix” (mp3)

No word of U.S. tour. I just don’t recommend driving 8 hours in case they don’t show up again.

  • i drove all the way to see them and kasabian in chicago. it was amazing.. not diggin the new record so much. still great live band though
