Lex Land, the 21 year-old songstress from the City of Angels, is readying her debut album, Orange Days On Lemon Street, for its physical release on July 22 (Intelligent Noise Records). Despite her age and inexperience, Lex has the technique, personality and maturity of someone who always dreamed of singing to Clark Gable on his birthday back in the good ol’ days.

Lex Land. Wow. Listening to her cd brought emotions parallel to the tingling sensation of falling in love for the first time as a young teenager. Though at 28, I am no teenager anymore- that’s a feeling you never forget. She inspires passion on a level far beyond those of her peers. The poetry of “As much as you lead” reflects perfectly the sometimes torturous truth behind romance-poor timing. This cd is at the fore in my favorites of late and I’m certain it’s there to stay.
