ART-A-WHIRL is here, and this weekend work by over 500 artists will be on display in Northeast Minneapolis during the largest open studio and gallery tour in Minnesota. It’s one big artistic exhibition all weekend long, May 16-17-18, Friday to Sunday with plenty of live music, vendors, free wine and oh yeah, superb local art.
One of my favorite artists from last year is Linnea Doyle and her ornery robots. This year, Linnea’s art is hosted by Studio 215 in the Casket Arts Building. Linnea’s piece in the above image, “Portrait of the Artist,” is in NEMAA’s Silent Auction in the Third Floor Gallery at the Northrup King Building.

My son, husband and I toured Art-A-Whirl on Sunday and loved seeing the variety of local artists’ work. We believe in supporting the local community and purchased several pieces of art from different artists. There is so much to see that one afternoon out is not enough time. What a great event!
