Cursive’s Daytrotter Sessions

cursive_001_small.jpg
Cursive, my all-time favorite Saddle Creek Omaha band, stopped by the Daytrotter studios last month to record a short set before their Iowa City show that night. The set consists of one Cursive classic, and two brand new songs:

  • “Sierra” (Live, from The Ugly Organ LP)
  • “Let Me Up” (Live, new song)
  • “Donkeys” (Llive, new song)

Meanwhile, Cursive have booked studio time starting next week to record a follow up to their critically acclaimed 2006 album, Happy Hollow. The label tells me the band will be recording at least 15 new songs, including “Let Me Up” and “Donkeys”, at Mike Mogis’ ARC studios back home in Omaha.

You can bet they’ll be driving to Council Bluffs often to stock up on after-hours liquor during those sessions.
