I think I’ve outgrown modern punk rock.
I’m listening to The Morning Lights‘ new The Sounds of Love EP, and it sounds like whiny suburban teenagers trying not to get beat up by the cool kids while singing wuss rock in the boat stall of mom and dad’s three-car garage.
What are we rebelling against, guys? No dijon mustard on our $7 school lunch sub sandwich?
Am I missing something? Is this what my parents said about my love affair with The Ramones, Buzzcocks and even The Offspring back in the day? Say it ain’t so!
Every Avenue and The Morning Light will play the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on April 13. I would leave the lunch money at home…bullies can smell fear.
