Welsh metal-core band Bullet For My Valentine released their highly anticipated sophomore release, Scream Aim Fire, January 29. On the heels of a highly successful debut, The Poison, that opened numerous doors (opening for Metallica and Iron Maiden, hello?) the UK lads worked with Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Funeral For A Friend) and recorded at Sonic Ranch just outside of El Paso, TX to work on that perfect blend of metalcore and melodic speed metal.

Overall, I’m super impressed by this release. Lots of modern metalcore is either too screamo or too chunky power riffs. Even my super prog metalhead friend Dave is going to love the harmonious guitar solo work on tracks like “Suffocating Under Words.”

Scream Aim Fire showcases a band who will kick in you in the face and then buy you a beer. Now that’s a band you can love.

The boys return from a tour in Europe to kick off the Taste of Chaos Tour in the US on February 29th with a stop at Saint Paul’s Roy Wilkin’s on March 4 with Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Idiot Pilot, Blessthefall, and Japaenese bands, including Mucc, D’espairsray and The Underneath.
