Female singer-songwriter Leerone releases her first full-length this month, Imaginary Biographies. Leerone - first name only. Pronounced Leeee-rhone or roan. Like the “Lee” of Leroy and the “Rone” of Tyrone.
She’s shared the stage with the likes of talented Sea Wolf, Patrick Park and the Sara Lov. She has a lovely Karen Carpenter poetic vibe with a small smidgen of Fiona Apple grit.
Song structure is compelling and rarely formulaic, which is the only reason we’re even writing about this album (as a whole, we really can’t stand female singer-songwriters - just sayin’).
