Hrishikesh Hirway’s solo work began under the name The One AM Radio in March 1999. On his fourth album, This Too Shall Pass, Hirway melds melancholy dream-pop vocals with ambient, sadcore riffs and drones in a 13-track brooding spectacle of forgetfulness.
Well, Hrishi just returned home from an arduous and adventuresome tour across the country and is onto the next thing. While touring, the band listened to a lot of music — a lot of albums, but also a lot of mixes. We’re talking about mixes fans made for them, stuffband members put together in the past, playlists made on the fly, etc.
Hrishi wants you to sit down with the records and singles that make you happy and make a mix CD that is somehow based on the new album, This Too Will Pass. And luckily, you can interpret that pretty loosely.
