Joseph Arthur’s second album with his own label, Let’s Just Be, continues his musical evolution — this time into Rolling Stones/Wilco/Son Volt territory.
As Arthur moves further away from the looping and incorporates more guitar, his sound has a more authentic texture and an honesty we can appreciate. Perhaps that comes from recording “all of the new songs straight to tape using only 16 tracks with no reverb, sort of back to the basics.”
