Myth Night Club
Minneapolis (Maplewood)

Sevendust, Atlanta’s alt-metal veterans, wasted no time stirring up the mosh pit at the sold out Myth Night Club in suburban Minneapolis on St. Patrick’s Day.
“We’ve played all over the world,” said group leader Lajon Witherspoon as he motioned across the venue. “And the Myth in Minneapolis is by far the finest venue we’ve ever played. Now can I get my boys in the pit to circle clockwise? All right…”
And while we’re sure he tells all the girls that, there’s no question we’ve been wrong to misjudge the Myth. With stellar sight lines from every corner (we counted only two poles in the entire venue), VIP balcony seating, smoking (SMOKING ALLOWED!) and bars galore (no waiting!), could it be suburbia is the “new downtown” when it comes to a rock show?
Regardless of the Myth’s shiny aesthetic, the boys of Sevendust celebrated their 10 year anniversary as if in an industrial warehouse surrounded by friends — showcasing tracks like “Suffer” and “Deathstar” from the new disc, Alpha, and old standby crowd favorites like “Black” and “Home.”
Witherspoon’s pitch perfect vocal hooks matched with Morgan Rose’s vacillating guttural screams beckoned fans to erupt in spontaneous cheers more than 10 times.
Fumbling with his enormous belt buckle, a delighted Witherspoon laughed, “You guys are making me smile too much.”

Just a note… the Myth is located in Maplewood, MN. Maplewood is a first-ring suburg of St. Paul, NOT Minneapolis.
