Oh, the Forms. They had the blogosphere buzzing with their debut effort, Icarus, just two years ago.
“Finally, indie rock with balls,” the blogs proclaimed. But those pesky blogs are fickle, you know. You don’t exactly want to bank on a hottie mail order bride just because the blogs recommend her.
We’re not saying we don’t love the Shins, the Decemberists and [fill in name drop here] whilst saying we wish other bands were just like them but way different, but the Forms’ album just didn’t do it for us.
HOWEVER, the angular rock everyone is talking about definitely shown through at their SXSW show this week. We may just need to dust off Icarus and apply the Pythagorean Theorem for a third listen.
