Jeremy Enigk
World Waits
Label: Lewis Hollow/Reincarnate Music
Release Date: October 17, 2006
It’s a sunny day in Seattle once again, as former Sunny Day Real Estate frontman Jeremy Enigk releases his second solo album, World Waits.
It’s a dreary drizzle here in Minneapolis today, and this album provides the perfect soundtrack as we stare out the window of the light rail train watching stray dogs play in the puddles. Favorite tracks include the tempered yet forceful vocals on “Damien Dreams” and church organ-backed hymn of “Been Here Before.”
Who needs the Foo Fighters? Enigk played guitar, bass, drums and keys on most of the album and will tour with a 5-piece band. We’re told they’ll perform 6 songs from World Waits, 6 songs from first solo effort Return Of The Frog Queen, “Set it On Fire” from The United States Of Leland soundtrack and a song from Sunny Day Real Estate. So much for guessing the setlist, eh?
