Label: Ace Fu Records
Release Date: October 17, 2006

Chapel Hill, N.C.’s Annuals are getting some pretty major blog buzz these days.

Annuals is an experimental indie group led by 19 year-old Adam Baker, who we’re told shouts, freaks out, spits and wears a bizarre choir uniform onstage. Modern day comparisons to Animal Collective, Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire and the Flaming Lips are all appropriate, albeit probably unfair to such a talented young group with such promise.

The album’s stellar twelve tracks range from anthemic (”Brother”) to chill, but engaging rock (”Fair”).

Remember when we said this dude is only 19. 19? We can’t wait for the next disc, and the next one, and the next one.

mp3’s:
Annuals - “Brother”

Annuals - “Dry Clothes”

Annuals - “Bleary Eyed”

The group has a big fall tour coming up with Art Brut and Tapes ‘N Tapes - not stopping in Minneapolis.
