Ladyfinger (ne)
Heavy Hands
Label: Saddle Creek
Release date: September 26, 2006
If your face thrash from Nebraska, Ladyfinger (ne) have are releasing their full-length debut on Saddle Creek next week and touring with Cursive starting this week.
Forced to change their name earlier this summer (must not have Googled for Ladyfinger before picking their name), the band adopted the (ne), which couldn’t be a more appropriate brand for a Saddle Creek band.
Engineered/produced by Matt Bayles(Mastadon, Blood Brothers, Minus the Bear), Heavy Hands is a 10 track rock fest in a box. Emotive vocals set to frenzied rock, look to the second half of the album for the hidden gems (”Colored Lights”), although the single and early tracks ain’t half bad. Definitely not a masterpiece, but a good rock album that is anything but formulaic crap.

Ladyfinger (ne) — “Smuggler”
Ladyfinger (ne) — “Too Cool For School”
Ladyfinger (ne) hit Minneapolis’ First Avenue on Saturday, September 23 opening for Cursive (our review of “Happy Hollow”)
