Twin Town High
Music Yearbook, Volume 8, 2006-2007
Label: Pulse of the Twin Cities
You may have known the Minneapolis music scene is good, but did you know it’s great?
Twin Town High, the longest-running, continuously-released compilation of unreleased and independent music in the Twin Cities, has issued Volume 8, and we’re all in for a surprise.
Selections range from Indian-flavored hip-hop minimalism of Kill the Vultures to the influence-soaked indie pop of The Glad Version (review), and from the gently lullaby of Roma di Luna to the aggressive rock brilliance of Middlepicker (review).
If you missed the July 29 release show with Halloween, Alaska and four other selectees, you’re in luck. Friday, August 25 is TTH CD Release Show Pt. 2 at Turf Club, featuring Building Better Bombs, These Modern Socks, Middlepicker, Big Quarters, and Beight.
You get a free TTH CD with cover at the door, or pick one up free with any purchase at all metro area Cheapos.
