Kyle Andrews
Amos in Ohio
Reissue in stores: June 20
Label: Badman Recording Co.
Kyle Andrews is the smallest big thing you’ve never heard of. And his yet undiscovered bedroom rock album, Amos in Ohio, was actually recorded in Andrew’s Tennessee bedroom. So take that, worn out cliché.
Armed with a guitar, Casio keyboard and drum loops, Andrews escaped the crushing Nashville scene to create his own brand of indie-rock with a southern drawl. Reminiscent of poppy Bright Eyes, Postal Service and an adolescent Eels, Andrews has 13 tracks worthy of a thorough listen.
While initially released on a local label (Fictitious Records), Badman has remastered, included a new tune (”Self Help Tapes”) and is giving the album the solid push it deserves.
For now, you can download the title track, “Amos in Ohio” here. A national tour is forthcoming.
