Wolfmother
Fine Line Music Cafe
May 20, 2006, Minneapolis, MN
The sold out crowd at Minneapolis’ Fine Line Music Cafe got exactly the performance they were looking for Saturday evening, as Wolfmother played nearly all 16 songs on their full-length, self-titled debut with aggressive guitar licks, inspirational organ solos and an infectious energy lacking in many of the top CMJ bands. More photos and review after the jump.
HIghlights included the guitar work on “Mind’s Eye,” the crowd’s energy enhancing the organ solo during the single, “Woman,” and watching the entire club rock out during “Apple Tree” - video below.
(thanks peludotortuga!)
If you consider yourself a spiritual person at all, you’ll say a small prayer that the combination of Big Radio acceptance, putting “Love Train” in an Apple iPod ad (link) and the overplaying of “Woman” won’t kill this band.

still not fully sold on these guys…
i mean i definitely dig their sound (what’s not to like?), and they’re decent musicians, but i dunno…
their stuff just sounds really really same-y to me after a bit.
just kinda shocked that they’re blowing up, when a band like Nebula, has been doing this kinda thing for quite a while now (among other bands)… guess that’s what good major label support gets you.

Yeah, I totally f*cked up and watched Cloud Cult instead Saturday…
Nice pictures, and I always like seeing video from Fine Line. Just ’cause they’re so much against it…

Salt Lake City Concert Tips
Traveled to SLC for work Mon/Tues and had the opportunity for a concert Monday night. Unfortunately Wolfmother wasn’t playing until Tuesday - and that would’ve been too good to be true! So when a Pollstar search turned up nothing,…
