If you’re a musician and have ever found yourself without any bandmates and felt like maybe you’d just create your own band, that’s what California loser Jason Vance did in 1996. But he made the robots too smart, they rose up, renamed and enslaved him and have forced him to tour for 10 years now - seriously. Even Jason’s mom refers to him by his new name - JBOT.

So after 10 years, if you haven’t seen Captured! By Robots - the robotic rockers (plus one enslaved human) - you haven’t seen anything. I first saw them in Des Moines at Hairy Marys and while the sound wasn’t anything to travel long distances for, the robotics were phenomenal to watch. But if you haven’t traveled that far down the nerd path yet, you’re in luck! The robotic group just announced a 37-date tour, and they’ll be coming our way.

And if you’re as big a loser as JBOT, you can take it a step further. JBOT took the Monkeycube route and got himself ordained as a minister and wishes to marry couples during his upcoming sets!

So how could this group get more bizarre? Well, this spring’s outing is called the C!BR Gets Married tour, and the band is recruiting audience members to tie the knot at each show.

“Gay or straight or re-marriages, we don’t care,” the band said. “JBOT will be fully ordained as a minister from the Universal Life Church, and as such, the weddings will be legitimate.”
