This is very cool. Even though other networks have streamed series premieres online (UPN – Everybody Hates Chris; Showtime/Yahoo – Fat Actress; WB – Supernatural), this is the first to offered as downloadable, ownable content.

NBC has launched the pilot episode of its soon-to-debut law series, Conviction, on Apple’s iTunes Music Store for free. Conviction, a new series from Law & Order producer Dick Wolf, focuses on a group of New York Assistant District Attorneys and is set to premiere on the network March 3. NBC is also providing free behind-the-scenes footage from the series and an accompanying music video.
