The Icy Shores: Spectaculars : Moon Maan, 400 Bar, Mpls
January 17th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Somebody forgot to tell The Icy Shores, pictured above in my crappy camera phone, they were the opener Saturday night, as the group brought their unique brand of agro-pop to a sizable crowd and quickly “cooled” the room with catchy hooks, spot-on solos and Foo-esque rock. In the news today
January 16th, 2006 · 1 Comment

Radiohead turned down in Chicago
January 12th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Here’s a disappointing story from SPIN this week:

Reticence
ReMedial
reticence - n: inclined to keep one’s personal affairs to oneself.

Pilla at Station 4
January 9th, 2006 · 3 Comments
Friday night’s late show at Station 4 in St. Paul was packed with an unusually large amount of single ladies and rock fans. But I’m not sure if they were there to see Pilla like me…
Pilla is a local foursome (except the South Dakotan drummer) who love rock and roll and everything that goes with […]

Clear Channel joins the on-demand party
January 9th, 2006 · No Comments
As Clear Channel continues their restructuring to attack/absorb online popularity of music channels and dumb them down, record labels like Warner and Universal are still playing it safe by going with the big money over fans/talent.
From Reuters story on Friday:
Clear Channel Communications Inc., the top U.S. radio conglomerate, on Friday said it planned to begin […]
