It’s not often that bittersweet melancholy is a sought-after musical emotion. And if found, it’s even more rare to find it pulled off with authenticity and grace.

Enter Magnet’s Even Johansen and his new album, The Tourniquet. With a special blend of electronica synth folded into acoustic aural fjords, Magnet walks the fine line between lost love mourning and joyful peace…

The album opens strong with the lush “Hold On,” and peaks with the measured, yet lyrically deliberate track, “The Pacemaker.” Although the album is top heavy and the final tracks drift off into Norwegian darkness, we think this is the “Coldplay starring James Blunt plus talent” album we’ve been looking for.

Magnet begins a U.S. tour in March ‘06 to promote the U.S. release, boasting an exclusive bonus track, “This Bird Will Never Fly,” which doesn’t appear on any of the international releases.
