The Films’ debut EP, a three-song EP, is catchy pop with an edge. The
quartet, friends since high school in Denver, Co., moved to
Charleston, S.C. two years ago and started selling out clubs
throughout the southeast. That’s when they decided that maybe their
sound had a chance in the big time. Think Elvis Costello, Pixies, the
Strokes and the Zombies all rolled into one stinky fun ball.

“I’d like to think that we have a modern sound with obvious influences
from 60’s brit pop and 80’s new wave,” Vocalist/guitarist/songwriter
Michael Trent says. “No big tricke up our sleeves, just a lot of focus
on songwriting and melody.”

The band is currently preparing their LP due out on Warner in 2006 and
just cut a cover song for the new Superman movie that’s still being
considered (let’s just pray it’s not Three Doors Down’s “Kryptonite!).

You can stream songs at their Web site.
