Diamond Nights
Popsicle
Available: September 13, 2005
Label: Kemado
Three years ago, The Darkness proved that the 80s will never die, and with their latest album, Popsicle, Diamond Nights has proved the 80s will always rock. This album is the closest thing to an original 80s mix tape you’re going to get - with sounds ranging from Thin Lizzy, Foreigner, The Cars, Billy Idol, early Black Sabbath, Robert Plant solo 80s stuff and even early Foo Fighters.
Formulaic rock runs rampant on this album, but Diamond Nights is unapologetic and even unafraid to modify some tried and true classic riffs and vocal falsetto. This album is big, dumb rock, and we can tell you for sure, that’s never going to die.
