We love Robert Cray in our special parts.
A five-time Grammy winner with 13 albums already under his belt, Cray’s latest album, “Twenty,” continues the Memphis r&b soul groove that’s kept Cray popular in certain circles and regardless of the fact he runs in the same crowds as Clapton and and BB King, he’s still relativiely unknown in the greater population.
As for us, we listen to the album at work, home, bed (oh yeah) and during the commute. Robert Cray’s tunes fit pretty much anywhere, and we’re so very disappointed we missed his summer tour.
“Twenty” showcases that as Cray ages and sharpens his chops, he continues to put out quality, straightforward tunes with laid back guitar undercutting his velvety lyrical melodies. My pants have never had it so good.
