Perfect Porridge FAQ:

What is this?

A news and review Web site covering mostly music but also film, literature and art. We’re based in Minneapolis, MN, although we cover national and international musicians and artists.

Why Perfect Porridge?

So you’re asking yourself, “How hard can it be to make porridge?” It’s actually extremely difficult. But this ain’t no recipe site, so let’s leave it at that.

What kind of content do you cover?

National, regional and local record labels and artists send advance albums and include us on their media lists for shows, and we do our best to pound out album, live reviews and Minneapolis-based news in a timely manner. We mostly fail but do get around to everything eventually.

How can I get my band’s material reviewed? How can I get you to come to my concert? How can I get my gallery opening, poetry slam or double dutch competition listed and reviewed? How do I contact you directly?

You can e-mail us at greg@perfectporridge.com. Be sure to note our mailing address below if that’s all you need. PR pitches are welcomed, but we do ask that they are personalized and relevant to our readers.

Mailing address:

Perfect Porridge
PO Box 46515
Eden Prairie, MN 55344

We’d love to review your album, come to your show, pimp your art, book or whatever keeps the voices at bay. Please add us to your mailing list, too.

Can I buy advertising on your site?

Yes you can, and it’s freakin’ cheap as hell. We’re not in this to make money, but selling a few ads/month helps us keep the kitchen stocked while we dish out the best music news and review for your indulgence. E-mail for a rate card.

What is “Perhaps”

Perhaps is our printed zine published semi-annually chock full of poetry, musings, song lyrics, photos, artwork or anything your mom would deem “fridge-worthy.”

Guidelines:

-accepting any and all creative written word and graphic art (jpegs preferred)

-easily reproduced on 8.5″ x 6.5″ paper

-photocopy friendly

-submission of all materials gives us the right to use, reject or modify as we see fit

-Perhaps is a free zine, so please don’t charge your friends and adoring fans for copies

Once we receive enough material, we mash it all together into a little booklet and make as many copies as we can afford. Then we’ll send you a copy (from which you can photocopy for you and your friends), and we’ll leave others around town for random perusers of culture. That’s it.

Send Perhaps submissions here with “Perhaps” in the subject.
